Aayush A. Shah joined The Dow Chemical Company in March 2014 and has been the Global Polyurethane Additives Technical Coordinator since January 2018. Aayush is also a subject matter expert for Dow’s silicone surfactants for polyurethane flexible slab stock and mechanical froth foam.
Prior to this, Aayush’s previous work at The Dow Chemical Company included the development of novel polyurethane hydrophobic components and systems for coating applications that are typically dominated by epoxy materials. Aayush has submitted 1 patent application and delivered 4 conference presentations for this work.
Aayush defended his PhD in January ’14 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in the Macromolecular Science and Engineering program. His advisor was Prof. Michael J. Solomon in the Chemical Engineering department. He received his undergraduate degree in 2008 from the University of Mumbai, Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly UDCT) in Polymer Engineering and Technology and also has a dual Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Macromolecular Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan. His PhD research was on the creation of novel synthesis and assembly techniques for anisotropic colloidal particles. This work has resulted in 7 peer reviewed publications, 2 invention disclosures and 1 patent application.
