Frank Thibodeau is a 1979 graduate of West Point with a BS in General Engineering with a concentration in Chemistry. His military experience spanning 22 years in the US Army included operations in various contingencies while specializing in CBRNE defense located in the USA, Europe, and brief operations in the Middle East and Far East.
Frank Thibodeau has been the Vice President for Business Development for Bruker Detection since September 2001. His responsibilities include evaluating technologies for Bruker detection requirements, preparing government R&D proposals, overseeing current government R&D programs, and advising on the strategic direction of Bruker technological development. Through Frank’s efforts, Bruker Detection has been involved in the DHS R&D ARFCAM program since 2004, been awarded a contract to provide chemical detection to the entire US Navy surface fleet, and provided detection instruments to National Guard, US Army and other DOD CBRNE programs.
Frank’s current efforts include expanding instruments applications to include the chemical industry. To this end, he provided papers and been a speaker at the Polyurethane Foam Association Fall Meetings for November 2016 and November 2017 on using Ion Mobility Instruments for the detection of isocyanates in the workplace.
